In the town of Nadi, you will find cheap restaurants (3$FJ an indian meal). The window less local buses will take to the surrounding vilages for 1$.

On the countrary, everything which is related to tourism such as rental cars, cruises and hotel restaurants and souvenirs are quite more expensive but still reasonable as the Fijian DOllar is worth half a Euro.
I heard of some people who rented a car to go to the Coral Coast in the south west and paid 700$FJ total for 1 week! How? In fact the road were so bad that they blew up 2 tires costing 100$FJ each. Better go by bus or taxi.

After a day or two, you will experience the Fijian Time, which is strange at first but then you appreciate it.

I stayed in New Town near Nadi for a week and really enjoyed the Fijian Time: swimming pool, sun, delicious meals, excellent service, nice people.
